Is this BM still good?
I took out 2oz of BM from the fridge last night and placed it on the counter ( I was going to switch it over to another bottle then put it back in the fridge but I forgot) so its been sitting on my counter overnight, for a bout 8.5 hours. Is it still ok to use? I know BM can be used up to 10hrs after pumping but does it still apply if the milk was refrigerated? Thanks

I would toss it. I did that once and the milk went bad. I knew it went bad because it smelled funny. Also my baby would refuse to drink milk sometimes and when I smelled it I noticed it had gone bad.

No, once the temperature has been raised, it needs to be used within an hour or so

I would smell it. If it smells ok I would use it. BM is too valuable to waste.
I was talking to an LC once who said there are the rules we need to tell moms, and then we throw that all out the window and just smell the milk.

I've never heard that and what I've read doesn't support that statment.

Personally, I'd smell it and make sure it's ok. I'd hate to waste the milk.
