Halloween: what non-candy stuff are you giving out?

This is a thing for me. I know I’m strange. It’s more expensive, I know. So far I have..

Temporary Tattoos
Rings
Jumpers (parachute guys but halloween themed.)

I am going to buy pretzels as well (this was a big win even for the older kids!)

I will have a separate bowl for this stuff when I see small ones come up. I just find it so hard to offer an infant 2-3-(and even 4)yr old candy.

Thinking of crayons in princess & spiderman themes too..
ETA: and also some of those $1 glow in the dark braclets from target's bin

What are you guys doing?

Omg you are THAT house?! Lol, just kidding but I hated getting pennies when I was a kid from the old ladies. Go to the dollar store and get stuff like stickers, girls plastic jewelry, coloring books, paint by numbers, etc. target has a good section in the front with cute dollar stuff as well. You could have a basket for boys and a basket for girls and a basket of booze for the mommies...lol just kidding.

LOL

Yeah I'm the over do it house. I decorate and then I have two bins. One that doesn't get offered to the big kids and one that does. The big kid candy .. whew... I go all OUT! This year we are thinking
2 bags of the usual mix (snickers, etc)
2 bags of the generic mix (tootsie rolls, etc)
2 bags of kit kats (AJ's favorite)
2 bags of mounds (my favorite)
2 bags of whatever Jim wants
1 tub of pretzel packs from costco

We will check and see if its enough. 2yrs ago I think I had about 7 total bags and it was GONE by the end of the night!

We get a huge bag and let AJ mix it up. She LOVES that! In small amounts then we dump it into a huge container. Every kid makes out at my house!

Back to the non-candy. I just like the small ones to have a choice.

I'm very gender neutral as well. AJ loves trains Army men and super heros so I get kinda Chat Icon when people offer her girly options only. So I would keep only one large bowl of the non candy options and let the mom or kiddo choose.

I will never not give candy on halloween again. Last year we gave out pretzels. some kids flat out said no thank you because they already received many treats of pretzels, crackers and other non-candy items. Full candy bars in the house this year and from now on!!! i will always remember the house that gave out full candy bars when I was a kid!

I'm trick or treating by you... Well, if you add the booze for the moms too. Chat Icon

Kidding!

I live in a culdesac ans learned not many kids waste their time going in. Stinks, but DH doesn't mind b.c it's the only time I have candy in the house.

You can always do the fast food coupons for a free shake or something.
