Humidifier

What's the deal with a humidifier?! DH was going to hook our DD last night but when we read the instruction it gave us a long list of where not to put it. I swear this thing was not made to put in a room. Which would you suggest I get? TIA

Honestly, we put a step stool in DDs room and put hers on there when we need to use it. Strange, but I didn't want to chance it ruining her furniture.

DH and I ran into the same thing with ours. After reading the instructions, DH turned to me and said, "what does this thing float or something? Where the heck am I supposed to put it?"

for the time being he put it on top of a bucket in DD's room. until we get a little plastic table or something.

I am not sure if this is ok as per the "rules" (I remember having a hard time figuring out where to put it) but we put ours on one of the dog's pee pads (they're super absorbent in case it were to drip or leak, but it never has) on the hardwood floor. We haven't had any problems yet.
