You are lucky! My DD is 7 weeks old, and she still averages every 2 hours!! She does a 3-4 hour stretch at night, but during the day some times she wants to eat every hour. She still eats 12 times a day, averaging every 2. I hope some feedings drop off soon...

During the day, DD still wanted her bottle (FF too) prob every 3-4 hours like clockwork until she was prob 6-7 mos. Once we started solids, she would maybe go 4 hours. She was able to go all night without feeding and sleep probably starting at 12-14 weeks.

I think this totally depends on the baby. My DS slept through the night at 7 weeks old. During the day however I had the hardest time spacing out the bottles. It took us until he was about 5 months old before we could feed him every 4 hours.

I kept him every 3 hours till he was 4 months old. But only for the day. He slept 8hr stretches at 3 weeks old and 12hr stretches starting at 7-8 weeks.
Increase the amount by an ounce or two and see if your little one can switch to every 4.

Re: when do every 3 hour feedings end?
DS fed every 2 to 2and1/2 hrs all the way up to 5mos, except when sttn. Once I went back to work, my aunt/sitter got him up to 3hrs. He's almost 9 mos and is starting to go a little longer between meals. I actually give him a snack (fruit or yogurt) between his last feeding at my aunt's and his bedtime so he goes about 4hrs between that feeding.

Re: when do every 3 hour feedings end?
At 6 weeks, DD was still at every 3 hours. I Have to look at my records, but we were at every 4 hours shortly after that, then when back to 3 due to her not eating enough, but she's now back at 4 (even though she isn't eating enough once again). My pediatrician suggested trying to extend her by 15 minutes each day, which we did by playing with her, bouncing her, etc. It took more than a few days to get her there, but we did, probably by 2.5 months. She can take an hour to get a few ounces down, so it still feels like 3 hours sometimes! At night, DH does a dream feed at 12:30. We put her down around 8:30-9:00 most nights, she has a dream feed, then wakes up anywhere between 4:30-6. She's 3.5 months now, and I can't wait until she really STTN, but our current schedule is doable.
