Nighttime Breastfeeding
I am EBF my 1 week old and do 2-3 nighttime feedings where I burp him and then put him back to bed, but I'm nervous about him spitting up if I lay him down too soon.
I have been laying him on his side (swaddled) and propping him with a rolled up receiving blanket at his back, but he does squirm a lot and DH is worried he'll go face down. What do you ladies do with newborns and nighttime feedings? Is there a better method?

Nighttime Breastfeeding
We did what all the doctors/nurses recommended, which was to keep them upright for 15 mins or so before laying them back down. So with both of my boys, I would nurse them, burp them, then keep them up on my shoulder for 15-20 mins (they were usually asleep this whole time!), and then lay them back down in the crib. This worked great for both of them. Honestly, propping them up with blankets at that age is dangerous. HTH!

Nighttime Breastfeeding
As long as he burps, I don't think there's much to worry about.

Nighttime Breastfeeding
I never worry much about burping at night. The LC I saw said that burping is not all that important for a BF baby. If DD is sleeping I try not to disturb her.
Remember that all babies spit up and yet the recommendation is for them to sleep on their backs. That is what is considered the safest. They can push the spit up out of their mouths and won't choke. I would use a blanket or lay the baby on his side. He'll be okay on his back.

Re: Nighttime Breastfeeding
You could also put the mattress on a slight angle and that will minimize spitting up. I have no other advice, both my girls had reflux, so they had to be upright for 30min after each feeding boob or bottle.
