Girl furniture-hutch or mirror over dresser?

We are shopping for nursery furniture for DD on the way. I am wondering if it makes sense to get a hutch for over the dresser or to do a mirror instead. As a teenager I liked having the mirror but I do remember having a hutch as a kid. What do most people do?

DD's room already has a storage cabinet with built in (with two doors) that has shelves inside. If we do not get the hutch we will get a small bookshelf for the room.

I think a mirror would be nice since you'll have other storage options.

We did a hutch because I wanted display space for books and things. We have it on a long dresser and then we have a tall dresser. We also have 2 closets so plenty of storage.

We have a tall glass front book case, and a dresser. Over the dresser is artwork, but I would put a mirror up when they are older. I think it depends upon how you plan on using the dresser. If it is also going to be a changing table, I am not sure I would want to have a hutch over it in case the child knocks things down/climbs up. I love the idea of a mirror for an older child once the dresser is no longer used as a changing table.

My DD 1 has a cheval mirror
DD 2 has a behind the door wall mounted full mirror (less floor space)

They have their own shares 2 sink bathroom, so I figured they'd overall appreciate the full length as they get older.

I love having the mirror on it because every time I'm holding her, I look up & see how big she's gettingChat Icon
So if you do choose the hutch, I would still recommend getting a big enough mirror in the room.
