2 kids in car seats car question?
We're expecting #2 and DH's lease on his BMW 335 sedan is ending in a few months. Our other car is a Ford Edge, which we plan to put both car seats in (DD in her convertible and new baby in the infant seat). We're on the fence about buying out DH's car (it's still in mint condition with minimal mileage) or buying/leasing something new. We currently don't have a car seat for DD in there, although when she was a baby we had a base for her infant seat and used it here and there. I doubt we could comfortably fit 2 car seats in that car, so it would be an adult only car. We're looking at other cars and I'm wondering if most people have 2 car seats in both of their cars or if you just have one designated "family" car for car seats?
Do you have 2 car seats in both or your cars?
eta- We are both ok with switching off cars on days where one of us is away without the kids. When I occasionally work and he's home with DD, I drive his car and it's no big deal.

Currently have 2 infant bases but plan on 2 convertibles. DH is a cop so his days off vary and he watches/takes DS places while I have my car at work. I like my car way more so I wouldn't want to drive his if we shared only 1 carseat lol

We did when we had 2 cars, but that doesn't mean I would. We plan on buying a large SUV or van this Spring and that will have the car seats in it. Whoever has the kids has that. For my DH going to work he will use the one we have now, and for running errands while he's home i'll use it as well. If you don't mind haveing them both be family cars I say just do 1 set, but if you like each having your "own" car I say do 2 in each.

I just edited for this. We're fine switching cars when necessary. I actually love driving his car, I'd drive it all the time if it were practical but the back seat is really too small for one car seat let alone 2. Even with the infant car seat we'd have to move the passenger seat way forward just to fit it.

We have 2 cars ans 2 car seats in both cars. We are expecting number 3 and both cars will have 3 car seats. We have to have it that way because I drop the kids off in the morning and DH picks them up in the afternoon.
