birthdays close to xmas?

hi, my dd will be one on 12/28. I normally have christmas eve at our house. Is it silly to ask people to come back on 12/29 for a party there? Would you wait until after new years day? does anyone have anything similar? I am open for a restaurant/hall too, but not sure on timing. Thanks!

I don't think it's silly at all. DS was born the day after Thanksgiving. His 1st birthday fell on the saturday after Thanksgiving. I had a few people tell me that they go away that weekend. It was fine with me. There were so many other people there. I would have the party when you want to have it where youwant to have it. Your DD's birthday is just as important as Christmas. If people want to come they will if they don't want to they won't. I don't think Christmas will have anything to do with it!

I'm a 12/22 birthday......don't ever feel like the birthday is any less important or make special arrangements to please others, because of the date being near a holiday. All birthday's deserve a special celebration!

There is nothing wrong with having people come back & I know I never want a birthday cake on Christmas! (in fact I hate my presents wrapped in Christmas paper that are for my birthday.)

My sister's b-day is 12/27 and no one ever had a problem with coming over on the 27th for a b-day party after being over for x-mas.

If they have a problem with it, it's their problem. Your DD's birthday should be celebrated the same as if it were in the middle of June.
