If you were put on meds to stop preterm labor

When did you come off of them? And how long after coming off of them did you go into labor?

Re: If you were put on meds to stop preterm labor

I had taken my last dose on a Thursday am and my water broke Saturday night around 8:30pm. The nurse had told me in recovery that my water would've broken either way but I am not so sure about that! Chat Icon

I was on the anti-contraction pills. Stopped at 37 weeks, didn't have the baby until my scheduled C/S 2.5 weeks later

I was taking meds every 6 hours, starting at 30 weeks. I stopped the drugs at 36 weeks and my water broke at 37 weeks. Baby was fine and healthy!

After hospitalization, I was on Nifedipene every 4 hours around the clock starting at almost 23 weeks. I was on strict bed rest at home (only could get up to use restroom or take <10 minute shower) and had the babies at 34w4d while still on the meds.

Similar to my story.

I was on nifedipine from 24w - 31w6d when my water broke and I delivered my twins.

I also had a short cervix that kept getting shorter. It was noted at 16w and I had a cerclage at 17w.

I started at 30 weeks, stopped at 35, had my son 4 days later at almost 36 weeks. I had super short cervix too which didn't help.

Re: If you were put on meds to stop preterm labor

Thanks for the replies - I started it at 33 weeks and at my last appointment, my dr. told me that I would be on it until 38 weeks.

Seemed like a long time to me...

The hot flashes were the worst part for me. It felt like my face was on fire! But I would have done anything in he world to keep my babies cooking longer.
