Beside the ounces is there a difference between stage 1 and 2 of baby food?
Just curious, what is the difference besides the ounces between stage 1 and stage 2 baby food? Just asking because I find I can find a better price of baby food stage two which is from 6mths and up vs. stage 1 which is for younger than 6 months.

Stage 2 might be a slightly thicker consistency. I find Stage 1 to be VERY thin.

Texture is exactly the same, diff is they mix fruits, veggie's, etc..that you don't get in stage 1... for example you can get Blueberry/Strawberry mix stage 2, but they don't make those fruits in stage 1.
You want to make sure your DC does not have a reaction to certain foods, so that is why they don't mix in stage 1. It's easier to pin point if you see a reaction to something.

My ped says its exact same for the same food. For example carrots stage 1 is the same as carrots stage 2. Good idea to buy all stage 2 size of stage 1 foods and give kid half per feeding to introduce.

The single ingredient foods are the same. It's the blends you have to be a little careful with. Make sure your dc has had at least one of the ingredients and has not had a reaction before giving the blend. That way if your dc has a reaction. You can pretty much bet it is the 2nd ingredient.
