If your DC slept in the FP RNP during the night...
..just was wondering how you transitioned them out of sleeping in it eventually? DS has been sleeping in the RNP during the night ever since we took him home, he hated his bassinet, and when I try putting him down in the crib he hates that too... He is fine in the RNP for now as he is almost 5 weeks, but I am just worried for when I eventually have to transition him into sleeping in the crib when he gets a little older..

Hello!! How are you???
I tried putting DS in the crib for every nap, but it usually didn't work. finally by 2 months he was sleeping in his crib, naps and at night. He was just finally ready I guess. He'll get there! Good luck!

I got dd used to a flat surface by putting her down for naps occasionally in the bassinet part of her pack n play. And the. Just recently transferred her to her crib cold turkey one day and she had no prob with it. Maybe we were lucky. I have no idea! We did it at 3 1/2 months bc she was pulling herself up in the rnp and dh and I decided that we needed our life and our bedroom back

We transferred him to a crib at 5 months. It went pretty well!

Re: If your DC slept in the FP RNP during the night...
we had him in the rnp in our room until about 9 weeks, then we moved the rnp into his room for a week or so to get him used to sleeping in there by himself at night. we'd try putting him down in the crib for naps during the day but he wasn't too happy with lying flat like that so when it came time to transition him for night time, we raised the mattress one end slightly by putting a rolled up towel under it, and put him in a sleep sack so he would feel more nestled. The first night, he took a while to get to sleep, but by the 2nd and 3rd nights he was ok and has been ever since!

We transitioned around 3 months. At that point DD wanted to roll a bit onto her side and couldn't in the RNP, so when she was switched into the crib, she was more comfortable at that point.

We transitioned him I think in July..I should have written it down. He ws sooo much more happy in his crib. Now he rolls from side to side and stretches out. It is so cute.

We transitioned at 10 weeks she was still swaddled so it wasn't too bad. I also made a U type halo around her with a towel which we kept for a little while.
