Spinoff: For those who bf past a year, when did you stop?
I am at 13 months, and she has been nursing more than normal the last week, so it is going to be a while!

DS is almost 18 months old and still nurses. He nurses 1-2 times every hour at home(if we aren't at home he goes 2-3 hours before asking for it) and 1-2 times at night. He calls it muh

DS was about 15 months. It was a very gradual baby led weaning process
DD1 was almost 2. She was down to nursing twice a day, but I was starting a new job and just felt like it was time. I picked a really busy weekend and just never offered it to her, and that was that.
DD2 was exactly 12 months. It was the weekend of her first birthday and she just abruptly stopped. It was awful. It was Mothers Day and I was crying in pain at my MIL's house because my boobs hurt so bad. She went from nursing five times a day to nothing overnight!

15-16 months with all three kids. They pretty much all self weaned at that point.

this makes me feel better. DD has been wanting to nurse every hour or two. I don't mind when we are home, but she has a tendancy to try to whip out the boob when we are in line waiting to pay at a store. I guess she gets bored.

We went to 22 months. Lasted all throughout my pregnancy and two months after. After a year, we started almond milk and he only nursed when he woke up, before his nap, and before bed.

At 1 we cut it down to a morning and night time feeding.
Between 13 and 14 months we cut out the morning session.
At almost 15 months I was planning on stopping and the day I said I was done she just never asked for it. She asked for it a few days later and I said "no more" and now she points to my boobs and shakes her head no! Even though I was planning on being done, i really feel like she self weaned. It went much better than I thought it would!
