BTDT Disney Moms...

Do you have a packing "must have" list?

I don't know what to expect or what we need for there. (obviously beyond our normal everyday needs)

4 1/2yo & 2 yo.

I don't know when you're going or what the weather will be, but I was very happy to have the sun shade for the double stroller as well as a rain cover. The sun shade also made it easier to spot our carriage after rides.
Thermal bag w/ice packsfor snacks and drinks at the parks is also a must.
Ziploc bag with autograph book and sharpie.
Extremely comfortable sneakers

Nothing specific...but I found this stuff helpful...

Zip lock bags - for snacks in line (we brought cheerios with us) as well as dry changes of clothes followed by wet clothes, and for things like your phone or camera for water rides like kali rapids

Always dry extra chage of clothes to take to the parks. Costumes are HOT and sometimes itchy and they want to change, there are some interactive water play areas - casey in Mk! Tiki touches that shoot water, fountain between future and world showcase at EPCOT.

Lots of hand santizer. We washed all trip and the last night both got the stomach flu. The oldest ended up in the ER. They told DH they get a few hundred kids a WEEK from WDW. This was late May not generally high stomach flu season.

Lanyards SO easy to put your keys to the kingdom around your neck. I had a lot of moms who were trying to juggle kids, bag and looking for their card while I just pulled mine out from around my neck
when I wanted to get into the parks, get fast passes etc.

I pack lightweight dresses which are cool and easy to change/pack.

princess/fairy costume for little girls or pirate stuff for boys. Kids wear all sorts of cute stuff from dresses to tutus and special shirts.

Activity for meals to keep them busy. Stickers/small mahna doodle/disney sells tiny dolls with tiny outfits you can put into a ziplock in your bag.

Wipes for sticky hands after ice cream or other sticky foods.

I saw several parents with those disposible place mats for counter service restaurants in case the table isn't so clean.

Sports bottle with strap to attach to the stroller to fill with ice and cold water or other drink for the parks.

Suntan lotion and bug spray.

I don't but somebring glow in the dark necklaces to save money as they are expensive in the parks.

Ponchos for the rain.

Stroller rain cover or extra poncho for the stroller.

Blister pads/bandaids

While you can usually buy them in the baby care centers I bring allergy meds and motrin just in case.

Autograph book if you want one or don't want to buy in the stores there with pens (ziplock so it doesn't run if it gets wet.

We are going soon....

Great list!
what are these lanyard things?

Do sundresses work, cause I'm afraid they won't for rides?

I got lanyards a while ago at old navy but I have seen them in several stores. I have small card holders (some colleges sell them for student IDs. It is a fold over that just held the key card and may if needed an ID orcredit card and maybe an emergency $20). They are flat and no bigger than a credit card. Some people attach them to key chains. But I attached it to a lanyard.

Many girls wear princess dresses all day on rides. Sundresses are just nice and cool. My girls wore them most days as did many other girls. You could always put biker shorts underneath if you are concerned. What is the concern for rides. There were many women in the parks that wore sundresses and skirts as well.

Ok....now I know the lanyards you mean Chat Icon

I just didn't know if there are climbing things & such, that then I'm going to hear "I told you so" from the hubby. He thinks I was insane when I said sundresses.

If you go to adelphi or hofstra bookstore and type in id holder. You will find one for like $12 that is leather. That is what I am thinking of. The string lanyard is like $3. I like the fold over ones more than the see through platic so people can't see what you have in there. A small flat change purse would probably work as well.

I would normally send you a link but I am on my nook and don't know how to put a link in.

There are some but you can put biker shorts on and take them off after climbing if they are hot.

BTDT Disney Moms...

I wore tanks and comfy shorts every day. I brought and wore sundresses for Downtown Disney dinners. I had our trip with an 11 mo old down to a science.
Stroller
Diaper bag
Backpack for DH
Diapers, wipes, butt paste
Extra nonbulky outfit and swimmy diaper
Snacks
Sippy
Disposable place mat (2/day)
Sunblock - spray
Aden & Anais blankie
Bottle and accoutrements - which you wont need!
Bib
Loved my lanyard - I actually bought one of the ones the pins go on and a pouch for my card. Also looped my (waterproof) camera on it and tucked it in my pocket or boobs!
1 poncho, 1 mini umbrella
Got food delivered from Gardengrocer.com - bottled water, diapers, wipes, snacks, a few other bulky items. $40 minimum, and like $12 delivery anx $3 gas fees, but so worth it!

Re: BTDT Disney Moms...

I would bring a mini first aid kid with bandaids, benadryl, etc.

Take new toys, stickers, other distractions for the plane and hotel room. I was well prepared for the plane but not for meals and the actual hotel room. The kids watched a little too much tv in the rooms than I would have liked. DH and I would be completely beat after getting back from the parks.

I would also recommend one of those thermal totes to bring drinks. I thought the food at disney was surprisingly not very expensive. we did not do any character meals though.

Re: BTDT Disney Moms...

We are driving (from NC), so I'm going to stop & get water for a cooler.

What do I need a swim diaper for? We aren't planning on going to the water park, is there another part we need to plan suits/swim diapers for?

Is it really that buggy, that we need bug spray? (I'm mean I know it's FL, but during the day too?)

Do you plan to swim at your hotel pool? We did a mid day break every day for naps if the didn't sleep in the stroller and we swam in that park break time. The girls loved the poly pool (they had a small water fountain area too). You can borrow life vests for the week if you need them.

Re: BTDT Disney Moms...

Ok....yes, we are actually planning a "low" day, the day after MK rope drop, etc. Ohana breakfast, relaxing pool, maybe hit downtown, or even a park a little, dinner then MNSSHP.

So yes, got the swim diapers. Since we r driving, I'm bringing their swimmies/puddle jumper . I thought for the parks (we aren't doing the waterpark)

I think I'll plan a few more, in case we find they need more afternoon breaks.
