Q if you delivered at winthrop..
..how long did it take for your DC's birth certificate and social security # to come in the mail? DS is over 3 weeks now and I'm still waiting, just concerned about getting it for insurance purposes... TIA!

Social came within two weeks. Birth certificate about a month. BUT there was a mistake so I had to wait an additional 2 weeks I needed it as well to add my ds to my insurance all of his bills were denied. Once I finally got him added I had to have all his bills resubmitted was a real pain in the ass.

Q if you delivered at winthrop..
SS came pretty quickly but the birth certificate took over a month, maybe two months. I had to call the town of Mineola about it and they told me it was being processed. They actually called me to let me know when they put it in the mail.

oh boy now i am getting worried. I just got a letter from my husband's employer stating i need to produce the birth cert. by the end of the month to keep DS on his health insurance...

That's so funny that you say that because we had an issue too when they put on DD's birth certificate that she was a boy!!! I feel like the incorrect one came pretty quickly (like 2-3wks) and the corrected one took about a month. Can't really recall that well this was 6 years ago.

Q if you delivered at winthrop..
It took like 2 months to get the birth certificate. It has to do when the doctor signs the paperwork. If it's a problem, call the hospital and get a letter verifying his birth and stating that the birth certificate is not available yet. The hospital will also be able to verify if the paperwork has been submitted for the birth certificate yet.

UGH this is what I have to do as well. Hospital told me that it was at the village and it could take 6 weeks! I have a letter saying my son was born there but apparently its not enough for the insurance office
