post partum clothes?

Just wondering after birth how long until you could wear regular clothes? Did you continue wearing maternity clothes for awhile?

post partum clothes?

I wore my maternity jeans (no panel) prob for 4-5 mos PP. I phased out most of the Maternity tops by 1 month, mainly because I hated the sight of them. I still wear gap maternity tank tops around the house 18 mos later.

At 7 months PP, I'm not wearing ANY of the maternity. I did buy some bigger clothes though.

Re: post partum clothes?

I wore my maternity pants for about 6 weeks post partum. By that point, they weren't staying up on me any longer.

I had to buy a couple of pairs of transitional pants one/two sizes up for when I went back to work, and I saved them for my 2nd pregnancy.

Re: post partum clothes?

Maybe I'm just weird, but I never wore maternity clothes again after walking out of the hospital.

I wore yoga pants for about the first two weeks and looser shirts.

I could fit back into my normal pants by 10 days pp. Most of my shirts didnt fit due to my giant bf chest. I bought some new ones.

I gained 30 lbs, so its not like I gained nothing.

post partum clothes?

I'm 4 months pp and I'm still waiting to fit into most of my clothes. I have two pairs of shorts and a pair of capris that fit from before. Other than that, I bought a few pairs of pants a size up and still wear one pair of maternity pants. As for tops, I mostly wear nursing tanks or regular stretchy tanks. A lot of my regular tops are too tight.

Ditto.
But I still have a pair of maternity sweats from old navy- 2 years later- they are just COMFY for bed and don't look like typical maternity sweats anyway!

I didnt wear any maternity clothes after i got home from the hospital. I couldnt wait to wear my regular clothes again. I gave birth in the summer so i wore mostly sun dresses when i was out or yoga pants when i was staying home.

Re: post partum clothes?

LOL. There are some skinny post preggers out there huh?

Nope. It is still taking me a while to lose the baby weight. There are areas of my body that are bigger. I wear professional clothes, so 10 lbs to go = 2 sizes. None of my dresses fit without looking ridiculous.

No way could I fit into my jeans. I did wear some of my maternity stuff for a while (maybe 3-4 months), but it makes you look pregnant. I made do with 1 pair of maternity jeans.

Re: post partum clothes?

I was wearing my regular jeans at my 6 weeks post partum check up with both of my babies. I wore non maternity shirts about a month after their births.

Ditto, minus the Gap tanks. I didn't have them that time, but if I did I would probably still have worn them. Chat Icon

Re: post partum clothes?

Uh, yeah, I'm still not in my regular clothes! I had to buy pretty much a new wardrobe in a bigger size. I did that probably around 3 months pp?

Since DS was born in May I wore sundresses and yoga pants with tanks all summer.

Re: post partum clothes?

I stopped wearing maternity clothes by 2 weeks PP. I'm 8 weeks PP and still have 15-20 lbs to lose. I can't fit into my regular clothes, but I was heavier before and after my first pregnancy. I'm wearing those clothes now.

Re: post partum clothes?

about four weeks post I had to ditch the maternity pants for my own sanity (i was sick of them and just was ready for buttons again lol). That being said, I lost weight before i got pregnant so i'm wearing "in between" jeans for the time being or things that are a bit more forgiving.

Re: post partum clothes?

I am a few weeks PP and I am 5 pounds form my pre-pregnancy weight and 10 pounds from my first pregnancy pre-pregnancy weight. I am able to fit into my non-maternity clothes but that doesnt mean that they look good yet!!! I wont buy new stuff until the spring because I want to lose these last 10 pounds plus another 5-10!! I do wear my maternity capris still because I have been pregnant forever and havent bought regular clothes in so long that I dont have anything nice to wear.
