If you make your own baby food
How do you make sure it is pureed enough? I recently made carrots and pears. I pureed it until it was soupy but when my DS ate it, he was almost choking.

they choke when texture is not what they are used to, not only when its not pureed enough.
so introduce him to the texture, take a food he will eat without problem. Mix a little of the new food in, next time mix a little more.. slowly introduce texture.

Thank you! That makes sense. I was really worried I wasn't doing it right!

I steam or bake most of the foods first, then puree. Sometimes you need to add a little water to get the right consistency, especially with veggies.
