Is this type of poop normal?
DS is 4mths and his poop has lately been pasty (like peanut butter) and green. He is fed breastmilk and formula, 50/50 and sometimes he cries when he is pooping but I dont think he is constipated.

I don;t think this ever happened to me but could he be allergic to the formula, especially if he's crying. Maybe he's in pain. I would call your ped.

He has been on this formula for a little over a month. If it was an allergy shouldnt this have started sooner? Im not saying you're wrong, just wondering Also, I did mention the crying while he poops to the ped and she said this is normal sometimes as long as his stool is not hard then not to worry. I guess next time I'll ask her on why its green, its so weird lol

If your baby is getting mostly foremilk and not the hind milk that could make it greenish. The formula may be thickening it up.

Re: Is this type of poop normal?
I was going to mention the fore/hind milk thing. If you bf and then he is hungry again within two hours feed him from the same side. If you pump try pumping for an extra five minutes. Hind milk comes at the end and has more fat. Foremilk has more sugar and too much will turn his poo green. Not hottible but it's not ideal either. Good luck!
