My mom was a stay at home mom until I started HS- then she went back to work.
I went back to work when DD was 8 weeks old.

noe of the above.
my mom was a SAHM until I was 4/5. But, she had 5 kids in 7.5 years and I was the youngest (along with my twin sister).
She went back to work part time when I was 5.
I went back to work FT when DS was 11w

My mom was always a SAHM, and I am a FTWM.
My mother watches my son while I am at work. She raised all of her kids and is graciously watching mine now.
2 of my sisters are SAHM, and my oldest sister just went back to work full time after being a SAHM for over 11 years.

Same for me. She went to work so that my parents could pay for college for us kids without having student loans - Thanks Mom & Dad!
I am a working mom.

I am a SAHM, and so was my own mom. I do feel like that influenced my decision to stay home myself-- I wanted to give my kids the same type of lifestyle that I had myself.

kind of a combination...my Mom stayed home until I was about 5, and then she went back to school for her masters and always worked after that.
She always told me that I should work, without sharing the details on here, she told me why. I followed that advice and it has served me very well.

my mom is a nurse and worked p/t when I was growing up- my dad is a teacher and he was with us when she worked
