binky falling out at night?

Help! I am in binky hell! DS is 4.5 months and had been a good sleeper, then got a cold. He's now over the cold, but screams every 10-15 mins all night long for the binky, every time it falls out. He can't get it in himself yet at all, and the binky buddy animal thing didn't help. Any advice? DH and I both work, and are so sleep deprived that we're ready to kill each other.

This is a long shot, but can he sleep elevated? DS got a cold and it went to his ears. We had him sleep in his swing/bouncy seat or his infant to toddler rocker and that seemed to help a lot.

Have you tried the crib wedge? Maybe if he can breath better he won't keep waking.

Also, what kind of paci do you use? DD will only use MAM and I get the glow in the dark ones for night

Ahh binky hell. I totally remember that stage Chat Icon While it was horrible and I got NO sleep and nothing worked, it was short lived. It will pass I promise!!! Hopefully sooner than later!

Went through the same thing with DD at the same age. We lasted a month and it kept getting worse. At first it was her waking 2-3 times a night, the last night it was like 11x Chat Icon At 5.5 months we did CIO and took the paci away. She's an amazing sleeper now!

Yes we are not supposed to, but both of my kids slept in the bounce seat or the stroller when they had colds. I put the seat in the bed with me so I could constatnly watch him or the stroller next to my bed.

PS I LOVEEEEEEEE Glow int he dark pacifiers. I know he is young, but they are the best invention ever!

Since he is done with the cold I might try CIO. DS never had a paci cause I never wanted to do the breaking of it.

I do know from others it is mucheasier to break the habit now. When they are that young they take to new things quickly. A few nights with no paci and you should be in the clear.

Re: binky falling out at night?

Oh one suggestion I forgot to mention. Someone suggested doing paci "exercises" during the day. For example when they have the paci in lightly tug at it so they learn to develop the muscles to keep the paci in.

It's worth a shot!
