Questions about making food for son's 1st Bday...
DS's 1st Bday is Saturday...
We're doing a BBQ at a park with burgers, dogs, ribs, mac n cheese, beans, chicken nuggets, salads, etc.
We're hiring someone to BBQ. My stress is over the Mac N Cheese and the Chicken Nuggets, which I'm doing. I won't have access to a stove since it's at a park. And I won't have time to make it fresh that morning since we have to go early to set up. We will have sternos...
I'm making the Velveeta mac n cheese and the frozen Mickey Chicken Nuggets.
When do I cook both at home? If I cook the Mac N Cheese the day before, how do I "freshen" it up? What about the nuggets? I don't want them to be soggy at the party.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hey, no real suggestions for you I just wanted to say its funny, we had our babies at the same time, same NICU, and now we are having our bday parties on the same day with the same theme !!!
Good luck at your party !!!! This has been as stressful as planning our wedding, I hate to say it, but I will be happy when its over !!

Are you bringing your own grill to the park? Not sure if you are baking or frying the chicken nuggets, but if you are bringing your own grill, does it have a side burner? Maybe you can have the person you hired fry the chicken nuggets as ordered?

Maybe bake nuggets that morning, then put in a sterno to warm them up? Same with Mac and cheese, use stereo and add some water or milk to freshen up on sterno

Hey!!! I can't believe it's been a YEAR since our boys were born!!!! Crazy, right? It REALLY seems like yesterday!!!! What a difference! Last year we were practically living in the NICU, and this year, we're stressing about party planning! I'll take the chicken nugget stress any day! Lol.
I HEAR YOU on feeling like I'm planning my wedding again. I've told people that exact statement. Lol. It's SO MUCH work! AND so much $$$$!!! But, I'm sure it will all be worth it! (But part of me can't wait until Sunday... the day AFTER the party!)
Happy Birthday to your boys!!! I hope we have good weather!
