Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
We're going to a birthday party for a set of two-year-old twins and their 3-year-old sister (they go to daycare with my son).
What do I do about the gift situation? How much to spend for each, separate gifts, etc.?

Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
I would get the twins one nice toy to share and 2 separate outfits and the older DD an outfit and smaller toy.
Eta: money wise it would add up to about the same as I would spend on any child I have a friendly relationship with (obviously close friends and family i would give a little more) I typically spend a max of $20-$30. Carters outfits you can get for $10-$15 if you catch a good sale which would leave at least $25 for a toy (or two if you get them each something smaller)

That sounds like a lot to get each of them an outfit and toys!! I would go with 3 separate toys, every kid wants something of their own. I would spend about $10-$15 on each kid.

Re: Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
I would get them each their own gift. Maybe around $20 each. That def adds up!
I have a 3 yr old and Im expecting twins and I know "sharing" really isnt too easy among siblings, so twins - def not! (unless its a huge play toy, like a water table or kitchen) They are always going to want what the other has!
You can def get great deals at Carters for an outfit for all of them, then maybe some board games or puzzles (AC Moore always has great discounts on puzzles) if you cant find ind toys for a budget.
Good luck!

Re: Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
3 gifts $20 is my bar for gifts Regardless of relation, if they party is for 1, 2 or 5, there's a gift for each birthday celebrated.
I have gone to joint parties with two girls from different families and its two gifts. I figure its all just one day instead of lets say 3 days through 3 months its still the same money so you just can't win. LOL 3 kids, 3 gifts.

this. I have twins and I'm not a big fan of people giving them a single gift to "share".
Monetary wise, would you ever give a $10 gift for a bday, if it was the only birthday being celebrated? If so fine, but I always try to spend the amount that I normally would if it was a single birthday party.

i would get each child a gift, and spend whatever you would if there were 3 separate parties.
so if you normally spend $25 per kid for each ind party, then that is what you should do.

3 kids = 3 gifts.
We haven't been to many multiple kid parties but I usually give each kid the same level gift as if everyone had a separate party.
I absolutely would not give a gift to share. They will fight!

Re: Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
i would buy the twins each their own gift. i know my twins wouldn't want to share a gift!
is the older sibling in your sons class? if not i would spend a smaller amount on that child.

ITA!! 3 kids= 3 gifts. I have Irish twins of which we celebrate their birthdays together and they each got their own gifts from everyone. While some did get them things to share, like a table and chair set, kiddies pool. They also got each a small thing that they each had their own gift.
I would spend what you normally would or what you could afford. Kid's don't care how much things cost at that age and a small toy for them or something inexpenisve usually brings the biggest smiles!

Re: Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
You could always do an outside toy or a basket of outside toys like bubbles, buckets, squirt toys, sprinkler, etc.
That way it would be one gift they all could share.

Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
Being I have triplets that just turned 3 I would but each child a seperate gift bc you really arent going to a "triplet" party....My kids usually get their own gifts from people attending but I wouldnt be upset if I got one gift card for all 3 of them...as far as how much to spend I would say anywhere from 15-20 bucks a kid or whatever you can afford...I wouldnt get upset if somebody didnt spend alot bc times are tough for many people and I wouldnt want somebody to go further into debt to buy my kids a gift....

I think you misunderstood me. I agree. 1,2,5 doesnt matter every birthday celebrated gets a gift. so 1,2, or 5. I have however seen parties where gifts are given to the younger sibling as a way to keep them quite. That I don't do. But if there's 5 birthdays celebrated at that party then 5 gifts a coming.
I TOTALLY Agree with you (i have twin brothers) each child period, gets their own gift. My limit is $20 per kid in general. Won't lie, sometimes I find cools stuff around $14 or $22 but its a good bar for me.

Re: Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
Separate gift for each child. My twins would not be happy sharing a gift. I don't really like when people do that, they are two separate people. If they were siblings who had two separate birthdays and two different parties, you wouldn't give a gift for them to share.
I usually spend $20-$25/kid. Yes, it can add up if the gifts are all at once, but you'd be spending the same money if you bought them separately, KWIM?

Re: Multiple Gifts at a triplet party?
Each child should get their own present. I spend between 18-30 per kid depending upon how close we are to the family. If both of my kids are invited to the party it will also increase the amount of money I spend on the present(s).

ITA. Whatever you would spend ordinarily for a birthday party. Its not the kids' fault that they are having a multiple party.

don't flame me.... Its not the kids fault they are having a multiple party, and I agree they should all get their own gift.
But if you spend $25 on 1 kid, then why are you spending $75 on 3 kids. Your child is attending 1 party, they are having 1 afternoon of entertainment/food..... Yeah, increase the overall amount, but why triple?
dh's family use to do xmas exchange where you picked 1 family out of a hat and you'd spend $100.... Now there was 1 couple, 1 w/1 kid, 2 w/2 kids, 1 w/3 kids.... The family with three kids threw a fit one year cause they thought people should spend $125 on their family so their kids were $25 a piece, it never was changed.
