Stop & Shop and Trader Joe's for most things....local small grocers and farmer's markets for my produce and some dairy.
On occasion, BJs for veggie burgers and some produce.
We eat a lot of fruit and veggies in our house

I shop the circulars, so depending on which store has the better prices for the goods I need, I will shop at either Fairway or Waldbaums. I lean towards Fairway, that's where I buy all of my produce, bread, fish and meats.

I always go to Stop & Shop, but dh (who does most of the shopping) will go to either S&S or ShopRite depending on the sales that week.

Stop and Shop, also North Shore Farms for meat. Can I even tell you how excited I am that there's a Trader Joe's AND a Fairway opening by me very soon?!
Oh and can someone explain to me why they love Fairway so much? I got so excited when I saw it but I'm not really sure why, hahaha. I just hear people talking about it on here a lot.

I chose other because I do most of my shopping at Target and what I can't get there I get at Stop & Shop.
I will go to Trader Joe's and BJ's a couple of times a month too.

Stop and Shop for several reasons.
It's closest.
It's a nice, new, big store- and the only store in a decent radius of me that is like that.
They have scan it. I can no longer shop without scan it. It's a deal breaker.
They have an EXTENSIVE selection of store brand items- even for unusual things like instant brown rice, sandwich flats, etc. And I am a MAJOR store brand buyer. 90% of things I buy are store brand.
But I have to say, they are high on their prices on a lot of things, and their produce SUCKSSS! Like it's horrendous most of the time.
Their meat is so-so too. Hit or miss

When I lived on LI, Stop and Shop. Now, Wegman's. We stock up on freezer stuff and dry goods at BJs.

I am a peapod girl all the way because of the apt (it's too annoying to bring all those groceries from the car all the way up to the apt...)
But when I just need odds and ends I go to the Natural Foods by us or Walbalms depending on what I need and the errands I'm running that day...

Wish I had a Stop & shop or Trader Joe's in my neighborhood.
I have waldbaums and Keyfood so I alternate those. I get meat, cold cuts from a specialty supermarket/butcher type place that is awesome. Fruits and veggies are all from a local vegetable store bc the quality and prices are much better than at my large supermarkets.

I heard that the one is Westbury is going to be really big! I live right by Douglaston, but it is so small that I know I will wind up going out to the one in Westbury often. Can't wait for the stores there to open!

I go between Shop Rite, Stop and Shop and Best yet. I find Shop Rite has the best prices- but Best Yet is right down the block and Stop and Shop is very close

I prefer stop and shop and go there when I can, but Waldbaums is closer and more convenient so we end up there more. Alot of items I buy in BJ's

we do shoprite because it's closest. We do almost all produce and boarshead cold cuts from the farmers market because its SO much cheaper and fresher.
We prefer stop & shop over shoprite but it's more of a drive.
We do wholefoods for special things like pork roast, whole turkey, bagged clams and other stuff for special occasions/holidays.
