tandem or side-by-side ?
Ive been researching this recently. At first I was leaning towards double city mini (side by side) but when I went to look at it I thought it was really wide. Today, I was actually looking into tandem strollers. I really like the baby jogger city select but it is pricey.

I like the tandem style. I felt like most of the side by sides wher so wide. I tested a few out in the stores and I couldnt even get down some aisles.

Re: tandem or side-by-side ?
Tandem is really only good for when they are little and in the infant car seat. They are all so damn heavy and even though they are narrow, they are still often hard to steer.
Because Jack will be older when the baby comes I would look into getting a Sit N Stand style stroller (I have the Joovy Caboose Ultralight and love it). Then when the baby is older, get something like the City Mini Double or the Joovy Scooter X2. They will love being next to each other!
ETA: The City Mini Double and Joovy Scooter X2 both fit through standard doors, which are just over 30"

I have the City Mini Double and and it fits through doors - I brought it into a gift shop at the Bronx Zoo this weekend to test it out when we use it for Disney. I've seen someone maneuver it through Baby Gap too! I have the infant seat adapter so I could use it from the beginning.
I saw the Joovy Scooter X2 at the zoo and it looked nice.

Re: tandem or side-by-side ?
Any of the BTDT moms I spoke to recommended the side by side. Almost all of them fit through doorways, so that's a non issue. You can see both kids equally well. (My DD tends to "help" me shop by grabbing things, so visibility for us is key lol). I think they're easier to steer. I'm leaning towards the City Mini double, w/the infant seat adapter.

Re: tandem or side-by-side ?
I preferred the side by side because both of my kids could see out and there was no fighting (i.e. who got the front seat). All of my friends with the tandem who had kids close in age said they regretted the tandem once the second dc wanted to look around. They loved it when the child was still in the infant carrier. I think it really depends upon when you plan to use it. If you have twins I would get a tandem snap and go and then a side by side double stroller for when they are older. HTH

Re: tandem or side-by-side ?
at the moment im using both with my twins. They are still in their infant seats so I use the snap and go which is tandem and then in the past month I also have been using my bumbleride indie twin. As far as maneuverability the side by side wins!!!! I'm only using the tandem...well bc it is a snap and go and that is so easy

Re: tandem or side-by-side ?
I have a side-by-side and no complaints. The kids like to talk to each other (sometimes they hold hands) when I take them out. I have no problem fitting through aisles or doorways either.

I have the City Select and love it! It has been a lifesaver for me. I tried out all sorts of strollers and this was the only one I felt comfortable using. I've actually used it to go running (albeit slowly!) at times. It is heavier than others strollers but I have no regrets buying it.
