1 yr Blood lead level...
So I am finally getting around to this and I need to know what to expect. We are going to Quest in Massapequa Park. What exactly do they do? Is it traumatizing (for mommy too!)?

I dont want to scare you. But we went to a lab too. They took the blood from my dd's arm. She sat on my dh's lap and he held her around her waist. Lets just say she cried AND my dh cried. But its over really really fast and she needs to have it done. After it was done we took her to dunkin donuts she forgot about everything LOL Good luck and its quick dont be nervous

Pretty much the same. It was done in my peds office. DS was upset and ripped the bandaid off but he was fine a minute after it was done.

We had it done at 10 months at our ped's office and it was just a finger prick. DD didn't even cry! She just tried to get her hand away... which is what she does now when I cut her nails.

This was more our experience. We went to a Labcorp first and they couldn't get enough blood out!! They said to really hydrate him up next time and have him run around (they did need a good amount of blood because we are testing for some other things). We then waited about 2 weeks and went to a Sunrise Lab. Again, finding the damn vein and getting enough blood were not easy. It wasn't pleasant but glad its over.

I've been to quest in massapequa park (i live right there) and I would NOT recommed going there! I didn't bring DS there but I've been myself a bunch of times and it's always a tremendous wait (even if you have an appt) and not a friendly staff at all. There is a sunrise medical lab on broadway in massapequa and it MUCH MUCH better!
