I find it digusting that James Holmes is wearing a bullet proof vest
On his way to the courtroom, he was wearing a bullet-proof vest.
I find it in poor taste towards the families, I guess.

I get what you are saying but I think for a case like this it's a standard procedure. If a family member of a victim shoots and kills him they will be tried for murder as well. Do I agree with that, eh, some situations make me want to say eye for an eye.

they said it was to keep the inmates from stabbing him. but i totally agree with you. those poor vicitms watching a movie didnt get to wear one! :(

Exactly I see both points
I also wonder what his court appointed lawyer thinks.
Do they have to take a case ? Can they deny it?
Most of the Colorado community is talkin about forgiveness. I don't judge .. Well i try not too...and I know it's part of grieving process but I am amazed.

This is standard proceedure.
And its not for the other inmates...he was in solitary. It is so that if someone shows up to the court house to kill him.

i feel like if i were a family memeber, i would want him in a vest. no easy way out for him. rot in jail or fry.
eta - bullet proof vests are dumb in this case. wont protect him from a bullet in the head during transport of a slashed throat if an inmate really wanted to.

Isn't that standard? They want to make sure that he makes it to the courthouse to stand trial - and someone doesn't take him out on the way there. I believe those like McVeigh etc were all put in them. It is to keep a person from shooting them on the way to court.

Think of it this way--when JFK was asssinated, a lot of people felt that the American public did not get the chance to put Lee Harvey Oswald through the justice system because he was killed 2 days later.
