Relocating/ family friendly places out of state
Dh and I are seriously considering relocating out of state. We are both sick of living paycheck to paycheck and want a better quality of life. He can easily switch jobs to basically anywhere in the US but we are looking to move within 8 hrs away from long island. I fell in love with peachtree city Georgia but it is too far from our family. Does anybody know of any places similar to peachtree? I really liked how family oriented it was and how affordable it is.

Loudon County, VA
About an hour away from DC, great schools, relatively cheap real estate, very kid friendly and still pretty close to a lot of places.
We live in Fairfax County, about 10 minutes out of DC. It is a little more expensive here but we love it!

We live in Midlothian, VA, a suburb of Richmond. It is about 6-7 hours away from Long Island.
We moved here 3 years ago for DH's new job and we love it! Very family-friendly. Lots to do and within driving distance to some great family vacation spots. Also, close enough to head up to NY via car or train for visits relatively easily.

I live just outside of Raleigh NC(Cary/Apex/Holly Springs area) It is super family friendly, lots of jobs, good economy, good schools, etc. It's about a 2 hour flight to NY and a 10 hour drive.

Re: Relocating/ family friendly places out of state
I dont have any advice b/c DH works for NYS so we arent going any where until he retires but I love to torture myself by looking at OOS real estate. OMG, you can get a mini mansion in Peachtree for $350k!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that salaries prob aren't comparable but still.
Good luck! If I had the choice, I would do the same thing.

What about PA? Not sure about what towns/areas are good but I know there are some that are great, plus not too far. I hear Pittsburgh is nice.
