Not at all. My boss called at 6 weeks just to confirm my return date (and to make sure I was coming back) but other than that not at all. We are not allowed to log into our system for emails etc.

They checked in with me to get my payment for insurance...and then they checked in with me again to make sure I was returning to work.

I did check in with them to show the baby off and to let them know I had the baby each time. Other than that, we left each other alone.

no way

i verified with my hr people when DS was born and we had a few emails back and forth (via my personal email) about benefits and stuff

but i had my work email removed from my phone so i wasn't getting any of it, and i would log on maybe every few weeks to basically delete emails.

other than that, no one called, and there was no expectation that i was available.

i think the point of maternity leave is for you to be completely away from work and able to focus on your baby.
trust me, the last thing on your mind will be anything work related!

I gave them my personal email for any questions that they may have and they did ask me a few things in the beginning of my leave.

I "checked" in three times in the 12 weeks- first time about a week into my leave to say everything was great and to send some pictures. I sent another email with updated pictures when DD was almost 2 months. A third email to remind them I was coming back the following monday and to submit my work to release form from my doctor.

I never checked in and the thought never even crossed my mind.

I had contact with HR right after DD was born to straighten out benefits for DD but that was my extent of contact with my employer.

i never checked in and they didnt call me (at least from what i remember, my backup may have called me to check how to do something) i did however log into check emails on my own cause i have issues

My boss emailed me nearly every day - mostly for work but other times just to check in. I was compensated for the extra weeks that I took that should have been "unpaid".

I wasn't out for long- (8 weeks)- but my boss called me maybe 4 times during that time. But more just to say hi, see how I was doing, how the baby was etc.
Towards the end we spoke a little more, to work out a return date, etc...

My boss e-mailed me several times a day and we spoke on the phone at least once a day. We hired someone to take over for me while I was out, but she quit after two days. So, he was really stuck and I didn’t mind.

They called me and emailed me whenever they needed me maybe once or twice a week and i dropped in every 2nd week or so to say hello and always ended up working for a few hours with the baby LOL. It wasnt as much as i had expected they just let everything pile up for me though. 4 weeks back and still playing catch up.

Hr checked in a few times to make sure I planned on coming back, but my boss just checked in a few times to see how DS and I were doing

It was hard for me to totally "let go" for 3 months. I would check my blackberry religiously, chime in on emails if I felt the need to contribute, and even went into the office a few times so I wouldn't fall behind. I would take my DS to my mom and she would watch him and I would take care of anything that I needed (wanted) to do done at the office. And it wasn't "expected" of me to do any of that stuff. It's just how I am. I enjoy my job and given I had the ful ltime help of my mom who was living here, why not?

they all checked in with me asking about the twins etc. i would send pics every week or so.
they would invite me to work /social dinners which i attended- it was nice to get out and to stay current with work.

when i went back on tuesday, the transition was seamless.

They contacted me once during DD2's maternity leave to give me a heads up about personnel changes that affected me, other than that they didn't contact me for anything work related during either leave.

i'm on work email every day, and chime in when needed. it's not an expectation, but since i go above and beyond, they are more flexible w/ me when i am there
