ideas of where to take 1 yr old?
Dh and I want to take DD places but we have no idea where.
The beach would be a nightmare because all she would do is try to eat the sand

Indoor play places
Aquarium
Zoos (Queens Zoo is on the smaller side, so we like going there with our boys since they are young. It's more manageable)

Wantagh park- spray park
Planting Fields
Vanderbilt Mansion (both places with gardens to walk through. Bring a blanket and hang out in the grass)
Zoo
Aquarium
Vineyards. (doesn't sound child friendly but, it so is. They have animals at some of them, martha clara. and plenty of room to run around).
Berry picking
Children's Museum.
Preschool Playdate session at Bounce U.
Petting Zoo (either the holtsville ecology site-free or White Post)
Public Run days at Long Island Live steamers- as long as she can walk.
There is so much to do on Long Island.
I recommend a book called baby friendly Long island. It has tons of stuff you can do.
