Round 3 of name debate

Well last night DH and I had it narrowed to Elizabeth and Isabella - at first he did not like Elizabeth. I am classic and elegant in style and threw these back in the pot:

Isabella - love the flow with last name. I like the nn Bella - Izzy - maybe. Classic yet cultural/worldly and romantic states my husband and I agree.

Elizabeth - Liz - not really sure of ... there are just too many that her original name would get lost. It is timeless classic/pretty which yet work like the little black dress concept ... timeless but worn.

Clare - I don't know too old? Does not go well with last name - Verdi. Does not have the jazz or flair that Isabella has. It is a pretty classic name and no worry about nicknames!

Ava - DH thinks is too short, don't have to worry too much about nicknames. Simple, short and sweet.

Yes, all except Clare is popular. Help! Frances, Ann and Clare (if I do not go with is as first name) are possible middle names). Ann is a middle name thing on my mothers side and Frances is a name thing on my DH side. Our DS has Francis for his middle name so the connection with her as Frances might be nice too.

My SIL is Elizabeth and she goes by Beth. Always has, her whole life.

Bella and Isabella are way too popular for my taste. But tons of people love those names... thus why they're so popular lol.

DH's best friend's daughter's name is Bella Claire. Gorgeous name.

My best friend's daughter is Elizabeth Hazel and they call her "Bazel."

You can't go wrong! All names are beautiful!!!

I think Isabella would go perfectly with your last name. I agree, Clare wouldn't mesh well with your last name at all. I also like Ava, i think that's very classic and timeless. However, I think Isabella can be fun, romantic, flirty and sophisticated. I don't care for Elizabeth. I have nothing against the name, just too common for me. I also think it would clash with your last name.
You keep going back to Isabella because you keep referring to it several times when speaking of the other names, so it almost sounds like you are both leaning towards Isabella anyway, which I must say, is the best choice on the list, IMHO

How about clara? It sounds better than clair with your last name. Otherwise, id go with isabella based on your posts.

I like Clara too. I think it's cute and classic and goes with your last name. Plus, it's not super popular.
