Small children's bedroom?
Our son's room is about 10X9. I want to buy him a full size bed, nightstand & dresser. We did the measurements and it seems fine. Does anyone have the same size room for DC? I would love to hear opinions. TIA

Re: Small children's bedroom?
DD has an 8x10 when we first moved here her room was a little boys room with a twin, a tall dresser, and a desk. That to me looked full to capacity. IMO I wouldn't do a full size bed.

I agree, I would do a twin bed. I'm 5'10" and have been since I was 13. I slept on a twin size bed until I was in my 20s and it was fine. So I figure my DS will be fine with that too. His room is 9x10 too and I'd rather have a little more free space in the room. JMHO

Re: Small children's bedroom?
That room doesnt sound big enough for a full size bed. I think it would be too crowded.

Why a full size bed? Our nursery is the same size, and I know a full will fit (it was the guest room before it was the nursery) but I would want them to have more floor space to play, KWIM? I'd buy a twin. It'll be fine. That's what I slept on until DH and I moved in together!

Re: Small children's bedroom?
I would buy a twin. Rather than traditional dressers I went with a kids storage system from Ikea. DS's room is pretty big but he has a lot of toys/clothes/books. I wanted less clutter. We have the Stuva system. Something like this except ours is taller, and we have 2 sets. They have held up well and we have lots of storage. Ikea

Re: Small children's bedroom?
is a loft bed or futon an option for you? then you can have a full size bed but take up less room

Small children's bedroom?
I honestly think it would be okay. Ann's room is 10x10 and she has a wide dresser, a chair, a hamper, a long set of shelves and a full sized futon that is always opened. I think it depends on the location of the doors (if the room has a closet). I mean there isn't tons of floor space but it doesn't seem like that big of a deal compared to when we had the crib or toddler bed in there.
