I'm hoping no one, but my IL have already said they're coming for when the baby is born (they live in CA) and the way the said it was "make sure the guest room is ready!" In typical fashion, they didn't even ask if it would be ok (even though the answer is no, it is NOT ok). I'm waiting until they get serious about buying plane tickets before forcing DH to have a talk with them about the fact that they will NOT be staying here. They were here last Christmas for a week and it drove us NUTS. There is no way in hell I will be able to handle having them here for when the baby is born AND Christmas (since I'm due Dec 15, they're thinking of coming out between the 1st and the 10th just so they don't miss it and staying through the holidays)

Re: are you having someone stay with you when the baby comes?
My mom has said she wants to stay with us when we first bring home a baby... she has no idea I'm pregnant yet and I'm not sure how she'll swing it since I'm due in February and she's a teacher... but other than her I don't know that I would want anyone else in the house for an extended period of time when we first get the baby home... maybe my sister but I can't see her wanting to be around 24/7 when she has her own stuff going on.

Re: are you having someone stay with you when the baby comes?
With my DS, nobody stayed. DH and I managed fine despite my C-section and my insistence on breastfeeding. Although recovery was not easy I was OK taking care of DS. It wasn't easy or pain-free (i like to say it was a big blur) but we did it!
This time we will have DS's nanny during her regular hours so I will have that help when she is there. Otherwise, I plan to manage the best I can (with help from Dh and hopefully ocassional day visitors).
