vacations with a 5 1/2 month old

My DH and I were planning a trip down south with our 5 1/2 month old but we changed our mind. It was going to be so hard, I am still EBF and my DS HATES his car seat, so we decided to just stay home. We have 2 weeks and want to try different activities. Can anyone throw out some places you went that were worth it? I live in Massapequa and we would travel all the way out east to do something fun. My Husband wants to stay overnight somewhere too, but I hate the thought of lugging all the babies stuff. I just need a place where I can BF or pump (my ds takes bottles) easy, and it won't be a huge hassle. I also would love some sun :)

I would go anywhere. A trip out east will be a few hrs in the car do you could just as easily go to PA or the Jersey shore.

I would have still went south. Your DC is going to have to get used to the car seat since they will be in it for years and its easier to get them used to things early.

I really do want to go but its a 16 hour drive and we would be changing hotels 4 different times. I just don't think it would end up as a vacation. I would go to PA, NJ or CT for a few days. I tried Montauk but everything is booked. I also want to make sure we have a hotel who isn't on the bed bug registry recently because my DS is still in the R&P which would be on the floor. Any day trips that might be worth it? He is really starting to look around so I was thinking the Aquarium and maybe Coney Island for the day.

At 5.5 months it's pretty easy to travel esp if you are EBF. We took DD to DC for the weekend in March, she was just shy of a year. We had a great time! The Zoo there is fantastic. We went through Annapolis on the way home and it was also such a cute town. Baltimore is supposed to be really kid friendly too!

I'd also recommend (but they'll require an overnight stay):
Mystic (easy trip)
Philly
Atlanta
Charleston
DC
Baltimore
Hamptons/Montauk (we've done this in a day)
Maryland shore
NJ shore

Local things:
Day in the city
Beach
Aquarium

Your options are endless with 2 weeks off! I'd jump on the opportunity and go somewhere that you want!
