Need help with a stroller again , I thought I had decided but now not so sure
After posting here and doing a ton of research I finally decided to go with city mini 2012. But I have talked to few random city mini owners past week or so and they didn't really give such great reviews, yes it's easy to push, easy to fold, light and sun conopy is huge , but main issue seems to be the seat doesn't go up all the way , meaning it goes up in upright position , but still not all the way, the basket is very small and hard to get in and you have to buy all the accessories separate . Then yesterday I set down and calculated the whole thing, between the cost of the stroller - which is 250 (I'm sure there is tax and possibly shipping cost) - child tray, belly bar, Rain cover, mommy cup holder ... it comes out to a lot of money -around $350 . So DH and I thought about and and figured maybe buy something that's a bit more money but comes with all or most of the accessories , has a bigger basket underneath and no issues with the seat going into an upright position all the way.
But is there such a stroller out there?
Any ideas? Suggestions ?
TIA

I have the city miny 2011 and love it. My only complaint is the small basket. It is pricey but worth it. The only thing I wish I had known was that we were going to have two kids so close in age. I would have opted for the city select because it converts into a double. It is a little heavier than the city mini, though.

My dd hated the city mini for the same reason (she never felt fully upright) I sold it and bought the bumbleride flyer. The bumbleride is compact, nice size basket, easy fold and best 2 features is the handle bar is reversible so baby can look out or at parent. And it has anadjustable footrest which we love when dd wants to take a nap or just rest in her stroller. The sun canopy is awesome. It is more money than the city mini but such a better stroller imo and has so many more features. Oh and it comes with parent cup holder, belly bar and I believe a rain cover. Check it out and see if you like it. Dd is now 18m and I see us getting a lot more use of it

Re: Need help with a stroller again , I thought I had decided but now not so sure
I have the Uppababy Vista and Citi Mini (2010) I loved the Uppababy because the basket is HUGE and the ride is so smooth. It came with the bassinet and I was able to get a car seat adapter and clip the car seat on the stroller like the snap-n-go. The only con I had is closing it it was hard for me and its a big stroller. I bought a used City mini and love it for my toddler since its easy to open and close and great for quick stops. To me I can't picture an infant in the city mini its just too big.
I think you should look into UppaBaby Cruz its like the Vista but I don't think it comes with the bassinet.
I highly suggest you go to Buy Buy Baby they have a Huge selection (much bigger selection then BRU) and test out the strollers. I would go during the weeknight so someone can help you and its less crowded.

I was about to get the Britax B-Agile - if you go on amazon.com someone put pictures up comparing it to the City Mini........
But..... then I found the City Mini clearing out the 2011 - black with fuschia for 150 AND free shipping, so I went for that.

I just started using my 2011 Citi Mini for my 6 month old son and I love it. I don't like the small basket but it does have an area behind the seat that I just noticed that I can put things in. Im also learning that I don't need to go out with a ton of things because I won't use it all. I have considered getting the snack tray however for now I don't need it. There is no use for it. I will buy the parent console and maybe a hook or 2 but that is it. Good Luck!

I have the city mini but I havent used it yet since DD is 6 weeks and we just use her cars eat w/the snap n go.
Can someone tell me what is the point to purchasing both the belly bar and snack tray? Doesn't the snack tray serve as a belly bar? The girl at the store told us to get them both but then I thought about it and I seem to think the belly bar would be a waste of money.

I have the city mini the 2011 and I love it. We used it with the adapter for the infant seat. I have the parent console and I am gettign the snack tray ( no need for the belly bar and snack tray). The basket is plenty big. I hang the diaper bag on the handle.
I do not ever seeing me having that much that I need more room in the basket. I do not pack more than I need though so If you are a person that packs for every possible senerio and then some you might have an issue but then again you will probably have an issue with any stoller.
DS is now in the stroller sitting in the seat and he loves it. he will sleep with it recline and just hang out sitting up.
My parents have a travel system stroller and I used it when I went to visit and I hated it. I decided I hate 4 wheel strollers after havign the city mini.

IMO it is a waste. Yes the tray does the same thing....Waste of money. I would not buy both and just get one....you will probably find you don't need the other.

I don't have a City Mini but I just wanted to say I don't understand the belly bar haha, but my stroller does have a snack try and I don't think I could live with out on. We use it for everything even now at 2 yrs old. Cups, snacks, toys etc. I would get the snack tray. The belly bar seems like a waste of $

I have the Uppababy Cruz and LOVE IT. It has a huge basket, and pretty much everything that Vista has except the bassinet. The only con is that it takes two hands to close and weighs about 20 lbs. I have heard that the City Mini is very lighweight and easy to manuever in comparison. Cruz comes with the rain protector and mosquito net. I originally had the CM and returned it for the same reasons you mentioned.

Re: Need help with a stroller again , I thought I had decided but now not so sure
I bought a 2011 Citi Mini on clearance....$149 I think? I LOVE it in every way and am a woman with 4 strollers...issues!
I souped up my mini on the cheap with the following that serves as both a cupholder and a caddy for my phone ect.
http://www.amazon.com/Diono-Buggy-Buddy-Stroller-Organizer/dp/B005PK1G76/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ba_1
and this for hanging stuff:
http://www.amazon.com/Jeep-Universal-Stroller-Hook-Pack/dp/B0033UWT8A/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1340634732&sr=1-1&keywords=jeep+hook
I know it says not to hang anything from the handlebars but with my diaper bag hanging and w/o DS in the stroller it stands no problem.
I did purchase the bellybar...liked it much better than the snack tray and paid $30. As far as rain cover, I went cheap with this one: http://www.amazon.com/Jeep-Jogging-Stroller-Weather-Shield/dp/B003D7N1YE/ref=sr_1_3?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1340637213&sr=1-3&keywords=jeep+rain+cover
So, all in, I have a complete first rate stroller for $210 plus tax. Like I said, I love it and it's definitely my favorite stroller.

Absolutely love my uppavista. Huge basket, great seat, option for a tray, big sun canopy, and great ride. If you think you'll have another sooner than later than maybe look into the city select.

Re: Need help with a stroller again , I thought I had decided but now not so sure
My DS is up so I can't post a long reply but just wanted to say that I purchased the City Mini 2012 about a week ago. I didn't love it (not a smooth ride with a heavy toddler, handle bar was rubber and uncomfortable)but out of everything I tried for my toddler at BBB, was told it was the best so i went for it. Then I found out about the Britax B-Agile. I ordered it on Amazon with 1-day shipping since we were going away and as soon as we put it together (had never seen it in store but looked at the reviews on Amazon) DH and I loved it!!! It was MUCH smoother than the City Mini. There are so many things I love about it. And, though both retail for $249.99, the B-Agile was cheaper on Amazon. We returned the City Mini with no hesitation.
Not sure how old your DC is since I'm rushing but me DS is already 32 months and over 33 lbs and pushing him in this stroller was a breeze! I can push with 1-hand!
If you are looking for a smaller DC/infant, I would also check out the other Britax strollers. They seem really well made. We have 2 Britax car seats and they have held up well and customer svs was great when I accidentally broke something, they sent me a replacement for free!

I mean inthe beginning it was fine, but as she turned 1.5 + it became an issue . Also I walk a lot, I go to a grocery store and pick up few little things , so having a small basket would be an issue for me. Small basket was non issue for me before we moved here , but we have bunch of stores around where I don't need to drive, so a good size basket always came in handy to me . I'm sure with 2 kids it will be even more needed

Thanks girls for all the replies. Unfortunetely uppababy is out of the question, anything over 400 is not happening, it was hard enough to get DH to agree to that much, plus honestly we can't really afford much more than 400 ...

LOVE my uppababy no complaints with it ever. LOVE the basket, DS loved taking naps in it. And their service is amazing, if you ever need to replace anything a wheel, rain cover etc etc, they do it and ship it for free.
oops sorry didn't read the post that uppababy was out of the question :(

Have you seen the 2012 Minis? The storage is much better. My DD never had a problem with the reclined seat; she seems to like it. IMO it's a great stroller esp for the price.

I don't have the 2011 model..I bought mine in 2010. For me, he is upright enough...not like a 90 degree angle, but it is enough. I also have a newer version of the double, and they are still not sitting directly upright, but it is good enough. I still don't use the snack tray. I can fit quite a bit in the baskets. A few bags of returns, or stuff walking around the mall..that's about the only time I use it. If you need a big basket, then maybe go and test it out, and see. I recommend it!

Although I don't love my city mini, I have not been able to find a better more functional stroller.
I was not crazy about the single city mini. Now I have a double city mini too.
I think it is hard for a stroller to be perfect. There are strollers that are cuter. There are other strollers that are lighter. Others have bigger and better baskets. Nothing beats the easy fold and easy push.

I never understood the complaints about the 'not being upright' thing. At least not in the 2011 models and up.. I never felt DD wasn't sitting upright in mine. Unless you need your child to be bolt upright at attention, with like a board strapped to their back and a full 90 degree angle, I dont' see the issue here.
