Xpost: Heartbeat & Ultrasound Question
Do your HcG levels need to be higher than a certain number in order to be able to see the heartbeat?
Also, i've read some things mentioning a fetal pole. the us yesterday just showed a little bean, looked like a sac, but nothing inside yet...i guess when the fetal pole is there you can actually see something inside the sac?

Re: Xpost: Heartbeat & Ultrasound Question
My doc said that you won't see anything until the levels are high enough, she said around 2500. At my 1st sono all I saw was the sac, then a week later (yesterday) had a repeat sono after my beta was over 6300 and saw the little baby and heard the hb. I'm 6w2d.
Do you know how far along you are? It may have just been to early and a lot can change in few days When do you go back and what did the doc say?

my bloodwork yesterday came back at 2,591. I believe i am 6w1d. we saw the sac but nothing else. i go back for another us next thursday. my RE said its exactly the size its supposed to be right now, so i'm not too worried about it (although i'm still a nervous wreck)

Re: Xpost: Heartbeat & Ultrasound Question
I went for a sono at 6weeks and we couldn't see or hear the hb. One week later and the hb was there nice and strong!

Re: Xpost: Heartbeat & Ultrasound Question
I went last week at 5w1d and just saw the sac and yolk. My HCG was 4,500!
I'm going back on Thursday at 6w4d and he said we should have a hb by then.
I think you're probably a little earlier than you think, and you will have a hb next week!
ETA: I meant that I think you're earlier than you think, not later.

the RE didn't tell me how far along i am. He didn't measure anything either, but i guess there is nothing to measure yet anyway. The only reason i believe I am 6w1d is based off an app i have on my phone and a couple of websites on line. I know when I had my first beta, it started off really low, at 25, but in 1 week, it tripled, so i am praying that is a good sign and everything goes well next thursday. at the ultrasound yesterday, all i saw was the sac, the little black spot on the screen, but nothing else. and he didn't point anything else out either.

Re: Xpost: Heartbeat & Ultrasound Question
Not sure of exact numbers and how they correlate but I was 5w2d HCG 6,800 and saw a sac and yolk sac. The following week I saw a hb. Agree with PP that a few days makes a big difference. You sound like you are measuring where you should be. Good luck!

Re: Xpost: Heartbeat & Ultrasound Question
I remember you triggered, right? You can take the day you triggered and assume that you ovulated 24-36 hours later and put that date in as your O date in a pregnancy calculator and they can tell you how far along you are.
A day or two can make a huge difference around that 6 week mark. Also, when the doctor measures the baby, it's so tiny so the measurements might not be 100% accurate, so try not to worry!

Yes, i did trigger. On May 21st, so i would have O'd by May 23rd. Which is the date I am putting into those online calculators. I know that a lot can change in a few days, its just that i see all these other ladies are their numbers are already so much higher than mine so i automatically worry

Numbers vary so much so try not to pay attention to that. They are rising as they should and you are seeing what you should be at this point, so try not to worry (much easier said than done - I know!). Also keep in mind that even though you triggered you still could have implanted a day or 2 later than you think. Looking forward to hearing a great update when you hear the hb next week

If you Oed on May 23, then you're probably only 6w today. You were 5w5d on Monday...still a few days too early for the hb.
Trust me, I can relate to you...the 10 day wait b/w u/s 1 and 2 are nerve-wracking, but trust that your body is doing what it has to do and you will see that little flickering hb next week!
And don't read too much into beta numbers. If I went by the numbers, then I'm having triplets!
(Now if only I can take my own advice! )

Re: Xpost: Heartbeat & Ultrasound Question
Really try not to worry too much right now. I know someone personally and have heard many stories where the doctor gets people all worried saying they should be seeing more on the US, blah blah . . . Then it turns out it was just a bit too early and everything is fine. A friend of ours was actually told they should consider scheduling a D&C. Um, that baby is a year old now.
Try to stay positive, you're so early on and there's a good chance it's just too soon to see on the US.
