GD girls- Highs Before Meals and/or Fasting

What did your "support" staff say about this? I am sick, and I think my body is keeping me high to fight off the illness, but I have no idea what to do. My 1 on 1 appointment isn't for another 2.5-3 weeks and when I called yesterday, she just said keep tracking. I don't think it is a dietary or exercise thing, but what did people tell you when you were high before meals or first thing in the morning?

94 in the morning.

ETA: before getting sick I was always in the 70's... but now it's been creeping higher and higher and I was 93 yesterday and 94 today.

Have you tried eating a high protein snack before bed such as a hard boiled egg or almonds?

Also that's not crazy high. They take an avg of your #s so two levels being off are not that bad. Feel better!!

my last meal varies, although when I was eating dinner earlier the morning numbers were good. When I have been eating dinner later, I think it has been worse. But I really feel like this is all because i am sick, but I just got sick this weekend and its lasted my husband at least 2 weeks, so I mean, I just don't want the numbers to get any higher because I might be like this for 2 weeks at least

What numbers do they seem concerned about? Like what would be too high and of concern?

Try limiting carbs during dinner and have a high protein snack right before bed. It should lower your fasting #.

My morning fasting numbers were always in the 90's. I tried eating protein before bed, waking up for protein everything, nothing changed them. Then once they started creeping into the 100's consistently, I was put on a low dose of medicine at night that helped to keep them in check

this happens to me as well.
not sure if your up for it but going for a 10-15min walk helps with the levels. both nutritionist and doc told me this and it really does help.

i go for nice walks after lunch and dinner
just started going after my last snack before bed.
