Not true. As the baby gets bigger the heart rate slows down.

My girls were all over 160 all the time. With my boys they were above 160 at about 8 weeks, then stayed in the 150's after that.

I'm having a boy and his HB has always been in the 160s and even as high as 170.

heart beat at 8 weeks was 158, she then dropped down to 150 and at 20 weeks she was about 140

It's just an old wives tale. HR is more about gestational age than gender.
