FYI Venetian Shores Sprinkler Park - TOB Residents ONLY
I know many parents like to go to the Venetian Shores sprinkler park in Lindenhurst with their kids in the summer time.
This year, in order to enter the park, you have to be a town resident and have a town park pass sticker on your car.
In the past, non-residents used to be able to pay a fee upon entering. This is no longer allowed at Venetian.
According to the TOB Summer Guide book:
Venetian Shores (resident only)
Residents with recreation permit only
Please note: Daily entrance fees will no longer be collected;
residents are required to have a recreation permit on their
vehicle in order to enter facility. Permits will no longer be sold
at this facility; recreation permits can be purchased at Tanner
Park or Cedar Beach Marina during the summer season.
Just wanted to pass this info along before you pile up the kids in the car and get turned away at the gate.
ETA: Town of Babylon residents only

You have to live in the Town of Babylon to get the permit. (Babylon, Lindenhurst, North Babylon, West Babylon, Amityville, Copiague, Wyandanch, Deer Park, parts of West Islip,...)
It's $40 for residents and $20 for seniors for the summer season.
The spinkler park at Tanner Park is open to non-residents:
Fri-Sun, Holidays $25
Mon-Thurs $15

what do you need to get the pass??
We rent a house right up the blockand i havent switched over my license or car registration it still listed at my parents in levittown(we are in the process now of looking to buy so i will not bother till we have buy).
Also i was there at park with DD and we walked past the sprinkler park and it still said underconstruction
thats another thing if you dont drive in can you enter still?

Someone posted a few weeks ago that it was switching to Lindenhurst residents ONLY, so I'm happy to see that's not the case.
TOB definitely seems more appropriate since I am sure town funds pay for it!

There is a fitness park opening up at Venetian also, it says on the TOB website that you can workout while looking at the bay.

You need a couple of proofs of residency, like your license/car registration and a utility bill.
I know you also asked about walk-ins. Last year, they started cracking down on that too.

thats what i figured  does it go by car. I think my DH registed his car under the new address but i would want to use mine. And hopefully a cable bill will work cause even though we pay the utlitlies everything is in my Landlords name!

If you don't drive, then you don't have to park. And if you only have one car, and your spouse is using it for work, then you couldn't drive there anyway even if they let non-residents in.
If you live on the surrounding blocks, you can walk in, but I'm sure you'd still have to prove residency.
In years past, many people thought they'd get around paying to get in by parking on the street and walking in. But it's a residential neighborhood and the people who live their complain, and they have really started to crack down on that.

Do you know when they start checking for passes? Ive been there twice already and there wasnt anyone in the booth. Just want to know how long i can get away with not having a pass lol.

June 23rd is the day the bay beaches open for the season (as well at the town pools).
