sweeping membranes?
I am 40w today. My cousin mentioned asking my doctor about getting my membranes sweeped? anyone ever discussed this with their OB? i didnt.
on Friday I was 3cm and 90% effaced (this is my second)

I asked my OB.. he tried at my last appt. which was yesterday at 38 weeks 1 day, but he said he couldn't b/c I wasn't dilated enough..

A good friend of mine had this doen with her last baby. She said it was somewhat painful, but she went into labor 2 days later.

Sorry to crash. My ob did it when I was 39 weeks. I was 3cm, contracting every 7 minutes and 80% effaced. I'm not going to lie....it was extremely painful. I was induced that night and ended up with a c/s. No recommendations here. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. If you have a high tolerance for pain (i did) it may be worth it.
