Using the doppler early
Is it normal to find the hb for a about 30 seconds and then it seems to fade away or was that not it?
I know the baby is so tiny and it's not even standard to find the hb this early so that's why I'm wondering if I actually even had it for that moment. Like could the baby move away that fast?
ETA: I am 9w

Re: Using the doppler early
If it was defintely the heartbeat you heard, it is entirely possible to hear it one second and then lose it the next. My dr.'s have even commented when checking for it that they had it but then she moved away so they lost it.

Re: Using the doppler early
Usually it can't be heard from a normal (non-professional or internal) doppler until 13 weeks. At least that's what my friend who's a nurse told me. She said trying to use one before 13 weeks can cause more anxiety than anything else since it's really difficult to find then and sometimes won't pick it up.

Re: Using the doppler early
I couldn't reliably hear a hb till maybe 13w. Before that it was mostly placenta and wishful thinking. Good luck

It definitely picked up about a 158 for like 30 seconds. I've been trying for the last 3 days and finally today after about 20 minutes I picked that up so I am hoping that was in fact it and it just gets more reliable like you said as the days and weeks go on.
I had a huge scare yesterday with spotting and had a sono but I don't go back for 3 more weeks so even if I catch the hb for only 30 seconds it will definitely help. I am realistic in my expectations with using the doppler and really don't think it can make me any more nervous than I already am after yesterday. I was actually really calm and feeling good about this pg until yesterdays spotting
