anyone know anything about FMLA/disability?
I met with my HR department a few months ago and they were kind of confusing. All I know is that I have to call up Cigna for disability and fill out FMLA paperwork. When exactly are you supposed to fill out the paperwork? If you don't know exactly when the baby will be born are you supposed to call up for disability?

I had Cigna with DS1 when I lived on LI. The customer service is great.
Just call them and they will explain everything.
I just picked my DD. When my DD came closer I called to let them know I didn't have the baby yet and was still working.
When my OB gave me a induction date (it was a THursday and that Monday was Memorial Day weekend) I told her to start my leave on the Tues so I took a few days b4 the baby.
You can call them from the hospital or when you get home.
My STD started as soon as I was off.

Thanks! that helps. When do you have to fill out the FLMA paperwork though, is that in advance or after?

I don't really remember, but if you call them they should have your case manager already. They'll mail you the paperwork and anything you need to know.

My HR person said that I should fill out the paper work 2 weeks before my due date. I kind of feel that is a little late, i might hand it in a month earlier.
