Changing nipple flow on bottles?

My DD is 4.5 months old and I recently switched from level 1 to level 2 nipples for my born free bottles.

I have a bunch of medela bottles though and they come with level 1 nipples-- just wondering if level 2 nipples can be purchased for the medela bottles?? If not-- what do you end up doing with the bottle when you swicth LO off of level 1s? Can they still use Level 1 nipples after 4 or 5+ mos old?

Re: Changing nipple flow on bottles?

I do have some medium flow nipples for the medela bottles. My 7 month old twins still use slow flow. I dont think it matters developmentally. However, after having a faster flow they may become frustrated going back to a slower flow

Re: Changing nipple flow on bottles?

I actually tried to make the holes bigger myself on the Medela bottles...major fail! It gave my DS gas pains so I switched to Dr. Browns bottles. I just bought some "y" nipples for when I start cereal.

I checked online; Medela does offer a couple of sizes.
