Childrens Claritin vs. Allegra
Anyone have any insight on either? All this allergy talk is getting me worried.
DS has horrible allergies. Started Sunday night. We were outside all weekend. He wasn't like this last year. He'll be 3 next month.
The Ped gave him allergy eye drops and we also use a steroid and anti-itch cream for the rash and eczema. I also picked up other eye drops per the Ped's recommendation that should help clean out the guck in his eye. They're all red in the mornings (not that it's easy to give him eye drops and who even knows how much goes in)
I asked the Pharmacist and she said some like Claritin and some like Allegra. I decided Allegra and started yesterday. So far nothing. I know after a few days it starts to help. At one point will I know to try the other?
Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks

What happened overnight? So weird b/c I thought the same thing. DS looked a bit better this morning. The house is clean, AC is on and DS had his meds yesterday. He also woke up real puffy this morning and I couldn't figure out why
I just want it to rain already to clean up some of this pollen!

Yes - what is the deal with the night - it doesn't make sense to me! Rain is predicted for this weekend - bring it on!!!

Re: Childrens Claritin vs. Allegra
My DD's allergist recommends Allegra over Claritin - and I believe it is stronger. I know that Claritin doesn't really do anything for my girls but Allegra works okay. Zyrtec worked the best for DD#1 but she didn't react well to it so I had to take her off it ASAP.

Re: Childrens Claritin vs. Allegra
Claritin works better for DS. Makes him hyper if he gets it to close to bed. Zyrtec made him sleepy and wore off fast. I haven't tried Allegra yet.

My ped recommends Zyrtec over Claritin. We didn't discuss allegra.
