Potty Train Age

What age did you start to potty train. I know it depends on the child and I know boys normally start later. I am just curious. TIA

Re: Potty Train Age

DS's SM decided to put him in pull-ups at about 2 1/2, he didn't really get trained for about 4 months. 5 Weeks before his birthday I said that's it - and put him in underwear. Never looked back

Re: Potty Train Age

We tried at age 3, but DS is stubborn and headstrong. Tried again at 3.5, he was potty trained almost immediately with 3 accidents in 3 days, then nothing.

Re: Potty Train Age

2.5 - we had tried at around 2 and then again a month later for just a day each time and he was totally against it. We decided to give it another go at 2.5 and within 3 days he was completely trained. 4 months later and he's had maybe 3/4 accidents.
He sleeps in undies also and wakes up in the night if he has to go. We did that a few days later, we were putting him to bed in a diaper but he was waking up to go so we took the diaper off. Two wet beds and he's been mostly dry since.

Dd was 24 months, ds 2.5 years. Looking back I wish I tried around 20 months.

My friend trained her daughter at 19 months and son at 20 months using the three day method. I think the older they get, the harder it is.

I totally agree, like I said DS is 22 months and is doing great without diaper. Nights are a little bit different, but we will start training him at night soon too, since he is in a bed already.

My DD trained at 3y4m and it only took less than two days. She really wasn't a 100% on board until that point but in the end I am glad I waited so long because training her was a breeze. In our case, had I forced it earlier it would've been a bigger headache because she just wasn't ready for one reason or another.

I let DS run around the house naked for the first 3 days to learn when he has to go and then on a day 4th I just put underwear on him and he seems to be fine.
I know there is plenty of books about potty training too.
