Re: infant car seat questions?

Maybe you can look up the owner's manual online and see what it says about cleaning it?

As for the base installation, I would look into getting it professionally done (like at a police precinct).

You can take off everything fabric and throw it in the washing machine. Just don't throw it in the dryer. Hang to dry then put back on.

Re: infant car seat questions?

We just followed the directions for the base install. It was pretty easy and we have them in 3 different cars.

I never washed the car seat fabric.

For cleaning - you just need to disconnect the straps from the back of the seat and remove the cover.

Installing the base is a little tricky to explain - it took me awhile to figure it out and then I brought it to hte police station to check - I had it pretty good but, it just needed to be a little tighter. It's a good idea to try to install it before you get it inspected so you know how to do it if you ever need to remove teh seat.

This ...

Also ... go online and google whatever carseat you have. You can download the entire owner's manual or view it online in most cases, and this way you can read the instructions on rethreading the harness straps after you've cleaned the cover, installing hte base, etc. It is really important that you know how to do all of this when you are using a borrowed seat ... you want to make sure you're doing it the right way!!

Also make sure that the seat is not expired!! Most expire in 6 years!
