Bridal Dress Shopping advise

My SIL is getting married next year and we're looking to start dress shopping next month.
I'm in NJ, but she lives on LI. I'm going to go there one weekend so we can start shopping with her at a few places.

WHere's a great Bridal Dress shop on LI?
Do we need to book an appt?
If so do you have any sales person you'd recommend too?

I got my dress at Kleinfelds and my mom, SIL and MIL came along too. We had a great time, but I think my SIL is looking to try local since we had the Kleinfelds experience. She may go too, but we figured we'd start on LI.

Thanks Ladies!
She's on LIW so I'm sure she's getting some recommendations there as well

Re: Bridal Dress Shopping advise

I had a great experience with Bridal Suite of Bay Shore.

We dealt with Marianne Vecchio.

I got mine at macys (no appt) but had a great experience at the one in Babylon. I had an appt there and I tried on tons of dresses and they never rushed me or pushed me to buy that day.

Re: Bridal Dress Shopping advise

I got mine at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa.
Appointment required, especially during busy Saturdays.
I was treated very well, and so were my sis and MIL when they shopped for their gowns there as well.

Re: Bridal Dress Shopping advise

For my SIL, we did all of the well-known ones here on the SS of LI.

In the end though, we ended up getting the same style dress she liked at the high-end boutiques at David's Bridal.

I am pretty sure the boutiques all require appointments.

I remember a few of them didn't have large dressing room areas and a few really large parties came in at the same time so it was kind of Chat Icon .

Re: Bridal Dress Shopping advise

Congrats to her!

I had my best two experiences at Village Bridal in Babylon and Paradise Bridal in Patchogue.

Village Bridal was the ONLY place that let you take pictures in the dresses. They were incredibly patient and kind and gave great dress suggestions, let me know if I picked up a dress that was out of my budget. I have nothing but raves for them. Unfortunately, I chose a dress that was from a designer they didn't carry so I couldn't order from them.

I ordered from Paradise Bridal and had a great experience with them as well. They didn't let you take photos in each gown, but they were more forthcoming with information than other places I've gone to. I've heard other people say the exact opposite, but I have to say I have nothing but good things to say about them.

ETA: And yes, make appointments, most places won't let you try on bridal gowns without it.

I went to Charisol Bridal as well and really liked the place. I was THIS close to purchasing there since that is where I found my gown. But their alterations were a little more than Paradise.
