Vacationing with a baby

I've been away a few times with my toddler and only once with the baby.

We're going away this weekend to Aruba for a week. We have a timeshare, which makes it so much easier.
First year we went to Aruba DS1 was almost 9 months and crawling all over the place. When you have a crawler do you let your LO crawl all over the hotel or hold them when you're in the room?
I think we put down a sheet with some toys or let him play in the crib while we got ready, etc.
Last year I was prego with DS2 and DS1 was about 20 - 21 months. He slept in a crib. He was obviously walking around at the time, which made it easier.
Now, DS2 is 7 months. Not fully sitting 100% and not yet crawling so I figured he can play in the crib with toys or we'll have him on the sheet on the floor.
Just wondering how you do it? Beach, etc. Do you hold the baby, bring a PNP or something to the beach?
Just looking for advise or seeing how other's do it when vacationing with a baby.
THe plan is to be on the beach or by the pool all day. My toddler will sleep on the floor in our room on a blow up or matteress and the baby will sleep in a crib.
Thanks

Aruba! that's great! Chat Icon

When our ds was little I would put a big sheet down in the room for him to play/crawl/roll on & I did the same at the beach...I didn't lug a PNP on the sand, but I used one of those pop-up UV kiddie tents so that I could take him out of the sun every now & then & so that he could nap. I got a decent sized, but lightweight one from One Step Ahead. HTH!

ETA: This isn't the one that we had, but it was similar to this cabana.

Our DS loved the bouncer, so we bought one there a d then disassembled it and brought it home as an extra one.

thanks!
I like that, but a little too late to order one now since we're going this weekend.
maybe we'll get a pool float or something and my FIL always reserves a spot in the shade so the boys will stay under that
