is it ok to travel/take a long flight?
DH's parents live in Armenia. His mother is very sick, not sick dying , but sick , some stomach and kidney problems, we found out yesterday. They are treating the stomach issues first, then kidneys , but she also has a heart condition. DH was saying that if she gets worse he might have to go for a couple of weeks or more , which I'm fine with. But I was thinking about it and I'd like for DD and I to go with him if possible, we would stay for 4 weeks or so . I will ask my OB when I go , but does anyone know if it's ok to take such a long flight? it's around 11 hours I think, we would have a layover somewhere in Europe, depending what airline we take. If we decide to go we would wait till I'm in my 2nd trimester, I'm only 9.5 weeks now.

Speak with your doctor but most women with a normal, healthy pregnancy should have no problem traveling in the second trimester, even on a long flight like that. That is most women feel their best as well.
Keep in mind that you should take constant walks up the aisles on the plane and stay hydrated.
I would take the trip, I think it would mean a lot to your DH

I went on a 5 and a half hour flight (not as long) when I was 13 and 16 weeks along and I was fine. And yep - make sure you take FREQUENT walks up and down the aisles to avoid any blood clots! Being pregnant and flying both increase your chances of a clot...
