Not giving food to baby (either sick or out)
My 7 month old had a virus last week. Congested and fevers for a few days.
Since he was congested and out of it I just kept with the bottles only. Usually he gets a babyfood and cereal (or banana) for breakfast and veggies for dinner.
Also, when we went to Florida last month the traveling day he only got bottles. Just wondering if I'm the only one that does this or do you still give them food to keep with their routine?

Re: Not giving food to baby (either sick or out)
i still gave him food to keep with his routine. the plum organics pouches are easy to transport and DS learned how to suck the food out (like a juice box) early so that made it much easier. happy baby has some too. DS loved his oatmeal in the morning so i always had to have that with me when we travelled. I'm not sure if just bottles is enough to sustain them at 7 months (but maybe that is just because my DS was always a good eater and preferred solids from the beginning)

before the age of 1 babies get all their necessary nutrition from formula or breast milk. Baby food is basically practice for tastes, textures and preparation for table food. If your dc is sick and will only take the bottles then they are fine. As long as he/she is kept hydrated. There were times when I'd go out when my ds was only a few months old and forget to bring some babyfood but felt fine as long as I was able to nurse him.

ITA! My 10 month old still has days here and there that we skip all foods besides breast milk. We never even gave baby foods.

Re: Not giving food to baby (either sick or out)
Depends. My one DD I would just give the bottle to.
My other DD when she was sick she refused her bottle/formula so we tried everything to get her nutrition.
My main conern when they're sick is dehydration. So if they want a bottle, they get a bottle, they want food, they get food. I take my cues from them but dont try to follow a schedule if they're feeling under the weather.

I am so glad you posted because on the weekends, our schedule is of so lunch or dinner is usually skipped. but since he is still nursing I don't feel so bad. a pp said, food is about the experience.
