Would you travel when you are 27-28 weeks preggo?

Would you travel 5 hours by car when you are 27-28 weeks preggo for a small family vacation? You would be away for 4 days.

I would, as long as my pregnancy was uncomplicated.

I would. When I was 26 weeks pregnant with my DD we drove to Baltimore and spent a week there. It was about a 4-5 hour drive if I remember correctly. It was such a nice trip. We walked miles and miles that week and my body held out great for it. That's such a great time in the pregnancy. You are showing, but not quite waddling yet. Chat Icon

We did take plenty of rest stops on the way down so that we could stretch our legs. DH doesn't drive because of problems with his eyes so I did all the driving and so whenever we got the chance we stopped to pee and stretch.

Sure, as long as there were no complications. Just stop frequently for pee/stretch breaks. It's a great time to get away!

I did a 5.5 hour car ride at 32 weeks with my DD and it was fine. I brought a pillow into the car which helped me get comfortable.

Go for it and have fun!

My first baby was very pre-term so personally I wouldn't feel comfortable traveling that far after 30 or 31 weeks.

But at 27-28 weeks I would go! So long as the doctor doesn't think there are any issues, go!

I'm going down to Kentucky around 30-31 weeks. You should go as long as there are no complications :)

as long as there haven't been any complications in your pregnancy and you are feeling up to it, I would go. Make sure you mention it to your doctor though.

I traveled to Maine for a friends wedding when I was 35 weeks pregnant and was fine!Chat Icon

Not sure, depends how I was feeling. I flew internationally at 25 weeks and was fine, and domestically at 30 weeks (was uncomfortable but fine) and delivered at 40 weeks. But I had horrible motion sickness my entire pregnancy and was miserable in the car for 10 minutes, so I would have been miserable during a long car trip. As long as you feel well of course
