lesson learned!! BRU

I decided to vent on the pregnancy board even though I'm not pregnant. I figured that the ladies here could benefit from the lesson I learned today.

In Sept I had Chat Icon Chat Icon born at 30 weeks. In Aug we had a wonderful shower and were blessed with many gifts. We decided not to open all of the big items and just see what the babies actually enjoyed using. We were also not sure what we really needed 2 of. Today I go to BRU with the intension of returning the other swing. I have the receipt in hand. They will not take it back or give me store credit. so I'm stuck with a swing my girls will never use. Apparently if your registry is not used in 90 days it is considered in active and null. If you do not have a receipt they will offer you store credit with your license. This is good for $150 worth of products within 1 calendar year. Not very helpful if your 1 item is over $150.
BRU will not take items back with a receipt if the purchase took place more then 90 days ago.

Lesson learned is return everything and re purchase it later. grumble grumble

Bohemia. They said the registry was not active and the manager would not do anything for me

Try different locations. Speak to the manager. You will get someone who will help.

Maybe, to trick the PITAs that work there, go on to your registry, add something small, buy it off of there and then go back to return your swing???

Re: lesson learned!! BRU

I was told returns were only accepted within 90 days as well. I made sure to at least open and inspect the car seat and stroller my mom bought to make sure everything was there, nothing was used or missing, etc since I knew I wouldn't use them for those 90 days.

When I got my pot set from BBB for my wedding shower it had clearly been used and was missing the paperwork. I don't want that to happen and not realize within the time I can return an item.

Re: lesson learned!! BRU

Try taking it back to BBB. They'll take anything.

Also, I think you should try contacting the corp headquarters for BRU. Explain the situation. Hopefully they will be flexible!

Re: lesson learned!! BRU

I go to the BRU in westbury and they took things back for up to 1 year since I had a registry there even if it was not on my registry. Sorry that you are having this problem. I would call corporate and talk to them.

If BBB carries it, they'll take it back for store credit!
